EDIA Training and Education

Mitigating Implicit Bias & Unlocking the Power of Allyship in Clinical Care
This training equips participants with the tools to recognize and address implicit bias while fostering allyship in clinical care. Through self-reflection and case-based discussions, participants explore intersectionality, oppression, and anti-ableism, gaining strategies to mitigate bias in decision-making. They also learn about equity, privilege, and authentic allyship, developing practical skills to support marginalized communities and create inclusive clinical environments.

Confronting Anti-Racism, Anti-Oppression, and Resistance
This interactive training sessions allows participants to apply case-based scenarios and begin to explore race and racialization through a historical context and how it manifests in healthcare design and delivery. Using an anti-racist and intersectional lens, participants engage to unpack racism and oppression and learn strategies to address these in day-to-day clinical practice.

EDIA Resources for Faculty

Ableism in Paediatric Care: Promoting Health Equity, Inclusion, and Anti-Ableism

While many of our educational resources are multi-purpose, this toolkit is specifically designed for physicians, faculty, trainees, and allied health care professionals. It explores how ableism can manifest in pediatric care—often unintentionally—and underscores the importance of shifting from a medical to a social model of disability. It provides practical strategies to recognize bias, challenge assumptions, and deliver inclusive, strengths-based care for all patients, regardless of ability.
